MESSAGE from
EHSA PRESIDENT
Michael Thomas '67
It is with great pride I welcome you to the new EHSA website, a work of passion representing our alma mater. In the past we attempted to renovate our database and provide to all alums, a refreshing update on how English High School is doing as well as the Alumni Association---this year we are serious, we’re ‘all-in’.
Much has been verbalized in the past but today we embark upon several activities to notice:
-
EHSA website www.EnglishHighAlumni.org
-
200th Anniversary Gala planning, 2021
-
Alumni networking everywhere, any class, any alum
Over the past several months, we’ve found many alumni whose accomplishments we were unaware of or had lost contact with. In our new alumni office in West Roxbury, each day sheds a light on an alum who has accomplished something amazing; we have enough success stories to fill a book. Go to our Website to read about some of these upcoming stories.
With the direct support of our Alumni Association, English High School Programs are receiving a financial boost. Resulting from a $200,000 gift to the Association, the biggest in our history, the EHS Alumni and Friends Tutoring Center will have provided over 500 students interactions this year alone. EHS’s Pathways Program is giving students ‘real world’ learning experiences mirroring the workplace environment, while developing literacy and critical thinking skills. These programs have become indispensable and provide a springboard to college for many.
Your Alumni Association is planning more events this year, Breakfast Club Reunions regionally, Cape, MetroWest, North and South Shores. Don’t be left out this year. Get in touch, reach out to a classmate or friend to find out more about us, go to your EHSA website…. make sure you’re in our database so we can communicate frequently.
Most of all, come visit us and/or the school. EHS is doing very well and so is your Alumni Association. Come join the procession toward our 200th Celebration. It will be fun for all, a Gala event you will not want to miss!

All the best, Mike
